Traams on Shiny Shiny New

Earlier this year I took some photos of Traams, they are solid little three piece coming out of Chichester. Shiny Shiny New featured an interview with them and used one of my photos. You can read the full interview HERE and see the original photo below.

Lauri Davis

I recently collaborated with Lauri Davis photographing her latest pieces to be made into a book which would accompany her work in her recent exhibition. While flicking through the images I thought they would go well together alongside some music, this is my first animation which is why it's a little rough around the edges. You can see more of Lauri's work on her blog HERE!

Dorset

I spent the day in Dorset exploring a part of it's magnificent coastline, I'll be compiling a series which will have a relevance to the time scale in which this coastline has been formed. This is a cheesy instagram photo from today, I will be processing the films later this week. I've tried out some Fuji Pro160C as I've heard and seen good things, I'm trying to experiment with other films rather than what I usually stock.

Anthony Duke

I was invited to take photos at The Ranalegh in Brighton of the Anthony Duke band, light wasn't great but luckily I had some Delta 3200 on hand. I had to push it to 6400 as there was little light on the guys playing, its more of a blues venue so I guess it suits the style of music played there. Despite struggling with low light I managed to get a few decent photos. It's made me want to shoot more black and white.

Terminus Road

I have been looking at some outtakes from shoots this year, I decided I quite liked this image so I rescanned it. It was taken on location during my shoot with Traams, I've been looking at some other films so I may post some more previously un-used work.

HRH Diamond Jubilee

This weekend marks the celebration of the Queens Diamond Jubilee marking 60 years of her reign over the United Kingdom. I think it is a good time for the nation to re-asses the united in United Kingdom, it marks the unison of four nations. Working together to support one and other, I think as a nation we are no longer united. I have observed a fair amount of negativity towards the Jubilee and the Olympics, I admit the Olympics might not be as much of a peoples occasion as it was first thought but I still feel that we should all support the Olympics and all the athletes partaking in them. In my opinion I feel that part of the reason we are in these current finical woes is because people are no longer united and working towards the greater good, we should work together to voice the views of the minorities and shout to stop wrong doings. If you saw someone being mugged would you stop? The most probable answer is no, this is because there is no longer neighbourhoods looking out for all their neighbours. We pull our curtains too and pretend to see nothing. Not that I expect many people will be reading this but for those that do lets take this weekend as a chance to reflect upon what it means to be united.

Lex Films

A good friend of mine is a videographer, I was watching his current showreel which coincidentally includes some clips of me taking photos amongst other bits. He is the same friend who filmed some behind the scenes clips of myself covering London X Leagues round 13 cyclocross race.

Ockley

In February I rode to London to see my sister, it snowed, it was freezing cold and at one point I thought I was going to catch hypothermia due the sub zero temperatures. I had my little Konica on me but I never got round to developing the film until the other day, turns out there was a few gems like this one. Riding through the weald with the snow was breathtaking, well worth nearly catching hypothermia for.

Hi

I've left my blog a little neglected for the last few months and using tumblr instead, I'm rather sick of Tumblr and question its credibility as a professional outlet. I'm going to be using this blog more often for showing projects and such that I'm currently working on.

This image is one of the first from a series I'm still in the process of shooting called In Passing, it shows the merge between man and the natural environment that is apparent when man exercises its right of passage. The above image shows the point at which the A283 leaves the Pulborough bank of the River Arun, more to come along with snippets of other projects.

Cyclocross

As part of of a current uni assignment I had to cover an event, I decided to cover a Cyclocross event as I like riding bikes and its currently the cyclocross season. It was all new to me but It was so much fun, I came away with some photos that I'm happy with. I also have a new found love for Cyclocross, I may have to build myself a bike and have a go. Here is one photo from the day, feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you think.

Grandad's Chair

I have been working with Patrick Bethal providing the stills and behind the scenes photos for his short film titled Grandad's Chair, the film has great substance because of its meaningful and nostalgic content. The team were great making it a fun experience, when it is completed I shall share it on here.

Bernie Bethal

I had the pleasure of shooting Bernie last week after doing a shoots for his daughter and son, he is an amazing character! He has one of the best personalities I have ever experiences, he is so knowledgeable and positive regardless of the situation.

New lens

I received my new lens in the post today so here is something I shot to test it out, I decided I wanted a decent photo of my bike so here it is.

No Clothing Co.

I have kind of left this blog as I'm still undecided on which is the best platform for a blog Tumblr or Blogger, that aside I decided to get this one going again. This is a photo I shot recently for a Deerbrains feature on No Clothing co. which are a small clothing company based in the steel city of Sheffield. I have been shooting for various bits and bobs recently so I will update accordingly, I have also got the Blogger app for my iphone so maybe I will update more frequently.
